Says Hina Khan as she signs another show with Ekta Kapoor alongside Kasautii Zindagii Kay!

While Hina Khan’s comeback to television as Ekta Kapoor’s Komlika in the TV Czarina’s Kasautii reboot, was the industry’s worst kept secret, it also was the most speculated one.

While Hina has started shooting for Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 (yesterday), the actress is on the other hand, battling positive and negative reactions and also fielding questions of comparisons being made between her and Urvashi Dholakia, the original Komolika, who made the character iconic.

But what the fans didn’t know, was that Hina Khan has signed another Balaji show with Ekta, alongside Kasautii, a leading tabloid reported.

The other Balaji project is yet to be titled and is strictly being developed under wraps. But what we do know is that Hina Khan will be seen playing the protagonist in the show.

Says an elated Hina, “Ekta Kapoor is the Queen of Television. If her vision says that she can see me playing two roles, then I’m sure there is no getting into the ‘negative zone’. It is her vision that she has offered me two roles – one a hardcore negative lead and the other, a positive lead. And Ekta is someone who has created television and has a vision unlike any other.”

She continued, “After Bigg Boss, there were so many positive roles being offered to me. I also let go of four big shows as a positive lead. But when I met Ekta, she offered me two very big shows. And isn’t this a compliment that she has this confidence in me that I can pull off both negative and positive roles?”

After the actress quit Yeh Rishta… she tried really hard to get rid of her bahu image. And while most iconic bahus would shy away from taking up Bigg Boss, Hina went into the house and became a fashion icon. Says Hina, “Yes, it definitely was a conscious decision and I kind of succeeded in breaking my previous stereotype image. And I think moreover making or breaking stereotypes or records, can only be assessed when the results come out, but as an actor we can only decide what’s going to be the best challenging role and give your best to do justice with it!”

We’ve never really seen any actor play both a positive and negative role on television together to which Hina quips, “I think if your performance and your craft is good enough, you can make people happy with whatever you’re doing. It’s pretty unprecedented but not impossible and I have faith in the audience.”

The actress signs off telling us that she most probably won’t be shooting for both shows together but if that happens since both shows are under Balaji, she will be hoping from one family to the other!
