This one looks like a promising effort to put forward Karn’s unexplored love story

The tale of Surya Putra Karn is not new for anyone. He was the illegitimate son of Kunti and the elder brother of the Pandavas, born with an inbuilt shield and kundals. Though he was their eldest brother, he fought against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war.

The story of Karn has been essayed earlier in mythological TV shows like Mahabharat and Suryaputra Karn starring Gautam Rode in the latter in the titular role. The show narrated his story of how he became an undefeated warrior, his struggles, and why he fought against his own brothers in the war. But one thing that remained unexplored, was the tale of his lesser known love story with princess Uruvi.

Star Plus’ show Karn Sangini aims to showcase the story of Karn(Ashim Gulati) and Uruvi(Tejasswi Prakash), and how she chose Karn over the mighty Arjun(Kinshuk Vaidya).

Well, the first promo of the show came out a few days earlier, and we are already quite impressed with it. Recently, the makers released yet another promo of the show, and here’s a small analysis on it.

What is the promo about?

The promo shows that Karn gets inside princess Uruvi’s palace without prmission and then a small conversation between Uruvi and Karn takes place, where Urvi asks Karn to entertain her. To this, Karn replies that an archer only knows archery. He then goes down on his knees and aims his arrow at the temple bells and suddenly there’s a shower of flowers on Uruvi, and she visibly seems mesmerized by him.

What we liked:

Even in the first promo we liked the first looks of all the characters, and in this one too, we think Tejasswi and Ashim look splendid. Tejasswi, as princess Uruvi is enchanting and very believable, and Ashim as Karn does look good, but a little expressionless.

What we did not like:

There’s nothing that we did not like specifically, but we feel that Karn and Uruvi’s chemistry could not flourish in the promo. But we hope we’ll get to see good on screen chemistry between them when the how begins and we get to witness more than what we see in the promo.

Verdict:

All in all, it looks like a promising effort to put forward the unexplored saga of Karn’s love story. We can’t wait to watch the show, which is now slated to launch on 22nd October.
